Sheila and I first made contact during covid 19 when I commissioned her to make a ring from her collection as well as buying earrings for a friend.

I lost my mum in November 2020 and inherited a sapphire and diamond ring that was my grans, a beautiful piece but quite dated design wise as well as being yellow gold. I only wear platinum or silver.

In its original design I wouldn’t have worn it. I contacted Shiela to make an appointment to discuss. When we met Shiela gave me various ideas of how to redesign grans ring.

I left the ring with her having agreed on three stacking rings incorporating a sapphire and two diamonds as well as a chunky silver ring with eighteen embedded diamonds in.

Shiela contacted me to ask me to pop by the studio as the diamonds were irregular in shape and depth (consistent of the diamonds of that era) she offered CAD by a jeweller whom she knew and trusted due to this but it they would have to be sent away.

Time passed, Shiela contacted me to say that all rings were ready for collection. Excitement built in the days that lay ahead before I could pick them up.

Today was that day! Honestly blown away by how beautifully they stack as well as the modern design. The chunky ring with diamonds is eye catching too. I wore the stacking rings out this evening with friends who all admired them.

Not only do I feel happy that I have grans/mums ring but the ability to pass on to my daughter and granddaughters in the present form means they won’t need to consult anyone for redesign.

Thank you, Shiela for listening and advising.
